You can now enjoy the benefits of clear vision after cataract surgery with the premium lens implants available at Lanter Eyecare!
Intraocular lens implants (IOL) are available to help you achieve better vision after cataract surgery. It is important to speak with Dr. Lanter to discuss the different types of premium lens implants available to you.
What is a premium lens implant?
Our eyes are always adjusting to focus on objects. It is important that we are able to see things at near, intermediate and far distances. Our ability to change focus is called accommodation. This accommodation is lost as we age forcing us to become dependant on reading glasses or bifocals. Premium lens implants are designed to provide patients with quality vision at a range of distances to possibly eliminate the need for bifocals after surgery.
These IOLs are made of a soft and flexible plastic that is folded and inserted into a small incision that is created when your cloudy lens is removed. When the lens is placed in the eye it unfolds and is positioned into place.
Dr. Lanter offers the following Premium Lens Implant options to his Cataract patients:
ReSTOR
The ReSTOR IOL is an artificial lens implanted in the eye after the natural lens has been removed. The lens design allows light to focus on the retina to provide clear vision at near, far, and intermediate distances without movement of the lens. The ReSTOR technology is designed to distribute light to different distance points, and improve vision by reducing any visual disturbances.
An ideal candidate for the ReSTOR lens is a patient suffering from presbyopia and cataracts, is seeking better vision at all distances, and wants to possibly eliminate their dependence on glasses after surgery.
Crystalens
The Crystalens IOL is a premium lens implant that actually changes position inside the eye. The Crystalens lens is advanced compared to traditional IOL implants because it works on a unique hinge system to allow the optic, or the part of the IOL that you see through, to move back and forth as your eye constricts or relaxes, just like a natural lens would.
Crystalens provides a continuous range of vision an near, intermediate and far distances, and is ideal for patients who want to see clearly after cataract surgery without relying on bifocals or reading glasses.
